many of these suggestions are regretfully impracticable and /or unavailable
Meanwhile yesterday at the Munich High End Show, randomly on a short break, and asking to share a table at the many cafes available and all chock a block, 'you are that Martin Colloms chap' , spoke an Englishman seated adjoining. I noted that I am reviewing an ATC active for the following issue, and we had both visited ATC to hear their well presented demo for the Active 100 SCM series, and that he in fact owned a pair after many journeys with costly high end component systems. An active helps to greatly suppress the upgrade bug!
I will blog as soon as I have recovered from this massive gathering and there will be a show report from Ed Selley in the coming issue.

I thought the ATC100 was the best sound at the show with sensible music being played also. Please note they were the SE model which has a better cabinet and amplifiers than the standard models.
