My grand plan is, once this nonsense is over can start to think about getting the KSA 100 serviced then get the big speaker built then looks for my 700cx replacement. For ultimate sound quality / performance within a reasonable dynamic envelope, I have one of Chris Bryant's specials but still hanker after a bigger vintage Krell, the 700cx was ultimately a bit dry?
Must caveat that my findings relate to how the 700cx amplifier sounded in my system, all a mater of taste and overall system balance.
With the new loudspeakers the 700cx might have been OK but my gut feeling is that the tonal balance of the new build will be on the brighter side of neutral so will have to listen carefully first both with my KSA 100, the CB amps and the S550i
With respect to the 700cx, with different loudspeakers and sources, it might have been a different story? Edited by user 25 February 2021 17:21:42(UTC)
