In a white paper released by the Audio Engineering Society in June 2020, a study was conducted testing KEF's use of Metamaterial Absorber for loudspeaker enclosures.

Thanks for finding that. Will give it a proper read but did see that the conclusion shows it works from 620Hz up, equivalent to a 0.5m exponential tube.
