Martin Colloms Wonderful! Really looking forward to your detailed review....hopefully you had time and space to include some comparisons with Dart products and Allegri pre. Any idea when the issue will be completed and ready for posting....expecting mail services to be crazy busy this December with all the online shopping etc and would be great to receive it before Xmas? Many thanks Edited by user 29 November 2020 18:48:28(UTC)

I probably have missed it but do we know when the 4Q issue will be published and what will be the content. Come on Martin, where is that delicious teaser of yours?

New issue coming soon - later than hoped but we couldn't stop Martin keeping on writing about the CH Precision equipment! At some point ten pages became 15, and all that took time... Doing all we can can get it mailed out in good time for reading as a means of festive TV/family avoidance, and here's a brief preview of what we have for you. Full rundown is here. Thank you Andrew. It is a sweet teaser indeed. It seems to be another great and exciting issue. I am wondering if I shouldn’t ask Santa for a subscription. Chag - Edited by user 10 December 2020 22:13:59(UTC)

Am I right in assuming that Naims 282 has never been reviewed? I know it’s certainly not new but it and the other preamps have been a mainstay for many years now. Naim is a brand loved by many and stocked by many dealers around the country. An article would most welcomed if ever possible. Best Popeye Edited by user 02 February 2021 19:46:16(UTC)

Shouldn’t we rather suggest the 552, a classic match for the beloved 500DR?

Chag - 282 is a classic match for the iconic NAP250 Chag! 😂 How about a big spread on all of Naims iconic pre’s!?

Magico A-Sub subwoofer (x2)
Subwoofers are increasingly part of the ‘package’ even up in the stratosphere of Wilson’s top flight offerings. Magico’ a A-Sub adds a near affordable proposition together with extensive on board DSP that reaches beyond the normal gain, phase and low pass filter cut-off, employing, I believe, Hypex class D amplification and DSP engine. In my own case, I have managed to tame the significant +/- 10dB swings of my mains over the first 3 octaves utilising 2 passive 18 inch subs, MiniDSP 2x4HD and two mono amps. The Magico product possibly enables removal of the MiniDSP and amps as it integrates, pretty much, all the needed functionality.
No doubt many will recoil at the suggestion of post DAC (re) digital conversion but the allure of ‘mode manipulation’ is worth exploring - after all, how many of us use expensive full range speakers in non—optimal conditions - for example open plan living arrangements? In order to facilitate the calculation of beneficial gain, phase and equaliser settings, I have used the excellent ‘multi-sub optimiser’ program to great effect - a free software package, noting that a much smoother response is possible utilising low pass, phase and gain alone with no recourse to any further parametric equalisation.
