The sound of amplifier loop negative feedback
This has been a pet subject of mine for 30 years or more. Greatly generalising, there have been sufficient examples to modestly correlate the sound of increasing negative feedback with reduced sound quality.
Highlighting the issue is the Delétraz pre-power,the subject of a feature review in the coming edition of HIFICRITIC, exploring the product of a designer with nothing short of an obsession for avoiding loop negative feedback. If ever I wished to hear an example of this idea fully expressed in a transistor design, this is it.

The pre amp is getting a lot of love over on Mono and Stereo, so I am really looking forward to your take on it. Edited by user 12 August 2020 10:09:07(UTC)

What about a review of one of those amplifiers that use a more advanced method of correction , eg Soulution ? |
